| The significance of this particular site, on Virginia Street in the Village of Bear Lake, is that it was once an orchard garden belonging to Bear Lake's founder and sawmill owner Mr. Hopkins. | Every effort has been made to store and save as many of this magnificent display of Spring flowering bulbs as possible for replanting in the new Keddie Norconk Memorial Library landscaping. |
On Friday, September 28, 2001, residents of Bear Lake and surrounding community, plus local school children, were asked to join in the official Ground Breaking. |
Our honored guests were John and Gene Martin, shown here in the center of this photo, whose generous donation made the Keddie Norconk Memorial Library a reality. |

Following the Ground Breaking Ceremony a reception and information meeting was held at the Pleasanton Township Hall where the final building plans were displayed and discussed. |
