M INUTES OF THE
LAKE IMPROVEMENT BOARD FOR
BEAR LAKE
SEPTEMBER 17, 2009
Present: Don Brisbin, chairman, Robert Yates, secretary, Carver Edwards, treasurer, and Mark DiBenedetto, drain commissioner.
Absent: Ken Hilliard and Bryan Harris.
Guest Present: Jennifer Jermalowicz-Jones, Lakeshore Environment rep.
Approval of minutes: Motion by Don Brisbin, seconded by Mark DiBenedetto to approve August 20, 2009 minutes.
Treasures Report: Carver reports current balance is $127,946.64 also check was presented from Pleasanton Township in the amount of $1201.78 to satisfy their agreed upon contribution.
Public Comment: None
Old Business: Jennifer Jones presented results from the expanded grid matrix 2009 summer aquatic report with the following results:
(1) no new millifol
(2) additional new good weeds
(3) spot treatment recommended
Update regarding treatment of phragmities on South Shore on real estate owned by Blarney Castle (see letter attached) - balance of $960.00 paid for by private donors and Ladies of Lake (see letter attached).
Results from audit (2008) - excellent condition!
Discussion took place regarding the treatment of Portage Lake - (Onekama) conditions is extremely bad - we are extremely lucky to have started our treatment as early as we did!
Reported that Kendra Rhody will follow thru with $60.00 (2010 assessment).
New Business: None
Public Comment: Bear Lake property owners currently striving to improve fishing in Bear Lake with Mr. Don Raiff spearheading the effort to complete survey regarding suggestions.
