October 25, 2007 Meeting Minutes
The meeting was called to order at 7:05PM by Jack Sawka.
All board members were present along with Jennifer Jermalowicz-Jones from A.S.L.
Correspondence from Paul Hiatanen asking questions and addressing issues was received, read, and
discussed.
Minutes from the October 11, 2007 were read and approved.
The Feasibility Study was discussed with Ms. Jermalowicz-Jones. She is developing a water volume
control map and a land use map. The weevil study is still ongoing along with the weevil
treatment/integrated treatment.
There was a unanimous agreement of the board to use weevils instead of chemicals where it is feasible.
Special Assessment District:
A unanimous decision was made by the board to use the suggested revised "Working Methodology"
dated October 25,2007. (Such information is attached.) There was discussion of unique parcels. The
information gathered is ready to be turned over to Ms. Jermalowicz-Jones and A.S.L.
Manistee County Revolving Fund:
Jack presented the submitted plan to borrow money to treat the lake in early spring 2008 to the LIB
and stated the commissioners seemed receptive to the plan.
LIB is continuing to pursue communication through the Manistee County website.
Plan to hold Public Hearings in January and February.
The next LIB meeting will be November 8, 2007 at 7:00PM at the Bear Lake Township Hall
Other Business:
Autumns Glory Day a well planned and executed event was well received. The event raised money for
the LIB to preserve and protect the lake.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:37PM.
