Keddie Norconk Memorial Library

The Keddie Norconk Memorial Library is the Bear Lake Branch of the Manistee County Library Service.

The Keddie Norconk Memorial Library Board represents this joint effort of the Village of Bear Lake, Bear Lake Township and Pleasanton Township, who joined together to create this wonderful community facility. Our official ground breaking was on Friday, September 28.

Our official "Library Angel" Fund drive to buy shelving for the interior was a resounding SUCCESS and we thank all those generous donors!

In 2000, a donation of $150,000 was made by a private citizen towards the creation of a new Bear Lake Public Library. We have instituted a Keddie Norconk Memorial Library Honor Roll to record the donors.

The Keddie Norconk Memorial Library Board is pleased and proud to recognize the Award of a $5000.00 grant from the Oleson Foundation toward the installation of the library HVAC system. And a $13,000 grant for our computer system from the Manistee Local Revenue Sharing Board! Thank you!
