Village of Bear Lake
January 11, 2006

The Regular Meeting of the Bear Lake Village Council was called to order by President Glen Moore at 7:35 p.m. at the Bear Lake Village Hall.

Council Present: Connie Guerne, Ricke Guerne, Howard Higley, Robert Howe, Glen Moore, Michelle Mortenson, Ron Ronning and Carol Urbanus.
Absent: Vern Best and Don Hyrns.
Guests: Carver Edwards and Vince Hancock.
Minutes: The December minutes were approved as presented.
Treasurer’s Report: Motion by Carol seconded by Robert to accept the Treasurer’s Report as read. Motion carried.
      Building Fund             56,853.52
      Equipment Fund           5,641.33
      General Fund             56,090.85
      Local Street Fund         3,623.45
      Major Street Fund       31,910.62
      Park Fund                   39,577.70
      Water Fund                 87,797.13
Bills: Motion by Ron seconded by Ricke to pay the bills as presented. Motion carried.
Guests: Vince Hancock introduced himself and informed the council that he will be publishing "Three Pines Gander" which will include local news.
Correspondence: A letter will be sent to Lutz Farms thanking them for their donation to the Village. The Christmas tree was lit and displayed on the deck for all to enjoy.
Easter Egg Hunt: Carver Edwards (representing the Bear Lake Promoters) requested the use of Hopkins (Park) for an Easter Egg Hunt on April 15th, 2006. Motion by Ron and seconded by Robert to allow the Egg Hunt. Motion carried.
Cross Connection Customers: Motion by Ron seconded by Robert to send the Village's Cross Connection customers a letter reminding them to have their annual inspections submitted to the Village by August 1, 2006 followed by a second letter with a deadline of September 1, 2006, if non-compliant. Motion carried.
Christmas Items: Motion by Carol seconded by Ron to purchase new brackets, star replacements, icicle lights and replacement bulbs for our Christmas decorations. Motion carried.
NEW MEETING DAY CHANGE: Motion by Ron seconded by Carol to change the Village of Bear Lake Meeting Day to the THIRD WEDNESDAY OF THE MONTH BEGINNING IN MARCH, 2006. Motion carried.
Money Market Accounts: Motion by Ron seconded by Robert to move a portion of the Building Fund, Park Fund and Water Fund into a 90-day money market account with a 4.25% rate to Huntington Bank. Motion carried.
Discussions Held On:

- Possibly interested in applying for a State Grant for various projects in the Village.
- Repaired garage door and truck tires.
- 6 of the 8 seasonals at Hopkins Park are confirmed.

Meeting adjourned at 8:20p.m.
