Village of Bear Lake
November 21, 2007
The Regular Meeting of the Bear Lake Village Council was called to order by President Glen Moore at 7:30 p.m. at the Bear Lake Village Hall.
Council Present: Carver Edwards, Howard Higley, Alice Howe, Don Hyrns, Jim Mlejnek, Glen Moore, Larry Mortenson, Michelle Mortenson, Ron Ronning, George Schafer.
Guests: Tim Richard, Donna Ronning and Ed Thompson.
Minutes: The October 2007 minutes were approved as presented.
Treasurer's Report:
- Building Fund - $6053.32
- Equipment Fund - $21,001.52
- General Fund - $38,034.10
- Minor Street Fund - $20,932.14
- Major Street Fund - $35,041.40
- Park Fund - $26,300.17
- Water Fund - $24,784.36
- Huntington Bank Money Market - $157,433.31
Motion by Ron seconded by Don to accept the treasureršs report as presented. Motion carried.
Motion by Ron seconded by Don to pay bills as presented. Motion carried.
Motion by Don seconded by Ron to have financial audit conducted every other year with the next audit to take place in March of 2009. Motion carried.
Motion by Carver seconded by George to give Howard a $500 Christmas Bonus. Motion carried.
Motion by Carver seconded by Don to allow the Lake Improvement Board minutes to be posted on the Village website. Motion carried.
Motion by Ron seconded by Carver to allow the Joint Planning Committee's Comprehensive Plan to be open for public viewing. Motion carried.
Discussions Held On:
- Public may view the Comprehensive Plan at the library, the Village Hall or on line at: www.partnershipsforchange.com.
- New savings accounts were open per the Village's auditor's suggestion.
- A Lake Improvement Board update was given by Carver Edwards regarding the Milfoil in Bear Lake and the special assessment district that may be implemented.
- A park committee meeting was set for Monday, November 26th at 2:00 p.m. to discuss campground rates changes and new rules & regulations.
- A new gift/donation policy will be presented at the next meeting for Council discussion and/or approval.
- A new certified water shut-off letter will be presented at the next meeting for Council discussion and/or approval.
- Howard Higley's possible withdrawal from Blue Cross/Blue Shield Insurance Plan. No action taken at this time.
