REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
November 19, 2008

The Regular Meeting of the Bear Lake Village Council was called to order by President Glen Moore at 7:30 p.m. at the Bear Lake Village Hall.

Elected Council Members Sworn-In

Council Present:  Carver Edwards, Howard Higley, Alice Howe, Don Hyrns, Glen Moore, Jim Mlejnek, Gary McBride, Michelle Mortenson, Donna Ronning, Ron Ronning and George Schafer.

Absent:   Larry Mortenson

Guests:   None

Minutes:  The October minutes were approved as presented. 

Treasurer's Report:  Motion by Carver seconded by Ron to accept the Treasurer's Report as read. Motion carried.

Motion by  Ron seconded by George to pay bills as presented. Motion carried.

Motion by George seconded by Jim to pay Howard his annual bonus of $500.00 Motion carried.

Motion by  Don seconded by George to have David Wilson perform the audit for the fiscal year ending February 2009 for not more than $4,950.00. Motion carried.

Motion by  Jim seconded by George to purchase a new answering machine. Motion carried.

Discussions Held On:  -

• A followup regarding the repair of a downtown building will be performed.
• A newsletter will be sent out with the next water bills. Information will include village water rules, campground updates and more.
• A new sidewalk ordinance was discussed. More discussion will follow at the next regular meeting.
• Designs for the upgraded dock area in Hopkins Park was presented. No action taken at this time. - The Health Dept. is following up with a complaint made by the Village Council.
• The water leak of S. Shore Drive should be repaired within a week or two.
