REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING
February 17, 2010
The Regular Meeting of the Bear Lake Village Council was called to order by President Glen Moore at 7:30 p.m. at the Bear Lake Village Hall.
Council Present: Carver Edwards, Howard Higley, Don Hyrns, Alice Howe, Jim Mlejnek, Glen Moore, Larry Mortenson, Michelle Mortenson, Donna Ronning, Ron Ronning and George Schafer.
Absent: None
Guests: None
Minutes: The January minutes were approved as presented.
Treasurer's Report: Motion by Larry seconded by Ron to accept the Treasurer's Report as read. Motion carried. Building Fund 5,967.57 Equipment Fund 10,636.50 General Fund 26,840.72 Minor Street Fund 25,284.99 Major Street Fund 40,342.42 Park Fund 28,850.36 Water Fund 24,083.34 CD - Honor Bank $26,343.23 CD - Honor Bank $30,947.30 Huntington Bank $79,580.97
Motion by Ron seconded by Carver to pay bills as presented. Motion carried.
Motion by Carver seconded by Ron to approve the proposed 2010-2011 budget. Motion carried.
Motion by Resolution by Ron seconded by Larry to approve the proposed 2010/2011 budget and set the millage rate at 10.5501 plus extend the deadline for summer taxes to February 28, 2011 without penalty. Motion carried.
Motion by Ron seconded by Larry to sign the contractural agreement between the Village and Manistee County for tax rolls, assessments & bills for 2010 at the rate of $1.12 per parcel. Motion carried.
Motion by Carver seconded by Jim to sign the agreement with the Manistee County Conservation District for Hazardous Waste Day and approve the $105 request for service. Motion carried.
Discussions Held On: - Our current grant project budget and the changes necessary due to increased costs in the water tower. The water upgrade project is on schedule and things are progressing with a target completion date by the end of the year beginning of 2011.
