The Village has reviewed bids received for the Village of Bear Lake USDA Water System Improvements Project and contracts have been awarded to the selected contractors. The Village is working with USDA on a few final details that are needed before construction can start.
It is anticipated that construction will start in late spring 2018 and last throughout the summer and into the early fall 2018.

Sealed Bids for the construction of the Village of Bear Lake Water System Improvements Project will be received, by the Village of Bear Lake, at the Village Office located at 12376 Virginia Street, Bear Lake, MI 49614 until 2:00 pm local time on Monday, February 19, 2018, at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read.
The Issuing Office for the Bidding Documents is: Fleis & VandenBrink, 603 Bay Street, First Floor, Traverse City, MI 49684: Telephone (231) 932-8600, Contact: Ken Mlcek, P.E., [email protected]. Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office as described below.

Bidding Documents are available to be emailed in portable document format (PDF) for a non-refundable payment of $20 (Twenty Dollars). Alternatively, printed copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office, during the hours indicated above, for a non-refundable payment of $75.00 (seventy-five dollars) for each set. Checks for Bidding Documents shall be payable to Fleis & VandenBrink. Upon request and receipt of the document deposit indicated above plus a non-refundable $15 shipping charge, the Issuing Office will transmit the Bidding Documents via mail. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the Bidder’s date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents will not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Engineer will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.
