Bear Lake Village, Manistee County, MI Notice of Public Hearing for Consideration of Adoption of the Bear Lake Village Zoning Ordinance
Notice is hereby given that the Bear Lake Village Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Tuesday June 25th, 2019 at 5pm at the Bear Lake School (NEW LOCATION) All Purpose Room, 7748 Cody Street, Bear Lake, for the purpose of receiving comments on the consideration of adoption of the Bear Lake Village Zoning Ordinance. The Bear Lake Village Zoning Ordinance outlines zoning districts that direct the placement of structures and use within the confines of the Village. The Ordinance will regulate the size, location and height of structures as well as elements of the site such as signage, parking, landscaping and lighting. The Zoning Ordinance is comprised of two parts’ 1) a booklet that contains the regulatory language and provisions of the Zoning Ordinance and 2) a zoning map which displays the boundaries of the different zoning districts and identifies which parcels fall within which district. A hard copy of the Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Map can be viewed at the Bear Lake Village Hall and Manistee County Planning Department Office. They will be placed in your July water bills. 2019 BRUSH PICK-UP For all Village Residents The Village does NOT have a burn brush location. All brush should be piled between street and sidewalk with cutoff ends all toward the street. Please try to keep sidewalks clear. Brush chipping schedule is listed below (rain day in bracket April 11  June 6  Aug. 8  May 9  July 11  Sept. 12  Oct. 10  Leaves and other plant material suited for composting should be bagged in recyclable composting bags (no more than 40 pounds) and placed between sidewalk and street for pickup by Village Maintenance employees OR residents may take compostable material to compost piles located near the Village water tank at the south end of Smith St. NO brush or garbage at compost piles, please!!
ATTENTION… BEAR LAKE VILLAGE RESIDENTS Due to the new water system that has been installed in the village you may be eligible for a reduction on your home owner’s insurance. Please contact your home owner’s insurance company and let them know The Public Protection Rating or ISO Rating is now a 5, effective on October 1, 2018.
